Microbat workshop and survey (Cobden)

Workshop will be held at Johno's Shed, Cobden Technical School (opposite sports stadium). 

Bat survey will be held at the Campderdown- Timboon rail- trail (opposite Cobden CFA station).

Details:

In this workshop, Matt Gibson will explain the appearance, diet, habitat requirements and management of microbats, and demonstrate microbat survey techniques, including trapping and ultrasonic detection.

Workshop attendees will visit the trapping site on the Camperdown – Timboon Rail Trail near Cobden. Weather permitting, bats should be visible flying around the tree tops at dusk, and Anabat Ultrasonic detectors will be used to listen to their echolocation calls as they forage for flying insects.
