Happy Valley Land Management Group is based in Williams Rd, Scotts Creek. They focus on roadside weed control, extensive revegetation and surveying, salinity mapping and local landslip issues. Their main achievement to date is the successful revegetation of most of Ross Creek. This revegetation work protects the creek and provides a habitat corridor for native fauna. Contact: Neville and Marlene Page, ph: 5595 9393 Newfield Valley Landcare Group The Newfield Valley Landcare Group conduct projects from the corner of the Timboon Port Campbell and New Cooriemungle Rd through to Port Campbell. Within this area they have undertaken fox management and rehabilitation of a roadside reserve including extensive weed control. They have also conducted further projects thanks to TXU funding. Based in Princetown this Landcare Group has successfully enhanced the community facilities and environment of the surrounding area. Their achievements include the construction of the Princetown Board Walk; a valuable community asset which allows tourists to explore the area while protecting the fragile wetland ecosystem. This committee manage the community resource of the Camperdown-Timboon Rail Trail. This includes the construction, maintenance and improvement of recreational and tourism resources including signs and paths as well as enhancing and protecting the valuable environment of the trail through weed management, revegetation and education. Timboon Bush Co-Operative The Timboon Bush Co-Operative was formed in 1995 when the Timboon Field Naturalists were informed of 70 acres of bushland that had come up for sale along the Camperdown-Timboon Rail Trail. The land was purchased as a co-operative with shares being sold to raise the money. Share holders aim to protect and manage this valuable area of bushland. The Friends of Bay of islands community group volunteer their time to work with Parks Victoria with the aim of keeping this valuable tourism and environmental resource maintained. Contact: Jenny and Richard Stevens (President and Secretary) ph: 5598 5216 Friends of Port Campbell National Park Famous for the Twelve Apostles and historic shipwrecks, Port Campbell National Park contains the most significant areas of vegetation and fauna native to south-western Victoria. The Friends of Port Campbell National Park volunteer their time with the aim to enhance and protect this area so that it can continue to be such a valuable tourist and environmental resource well into the future. The Lake Gnotuk Committee has greatly improved the Lake Gnotuk Reserve. The reserve was originally cleared land with a large rubbish tip, thanks to the hard work of the community members who volunteer their time to be part of this committee the site has now been transformed into a valuable community asset with extensive revegetation work providing valuable habitat for native fauna and a walking trail providing the only public access to the lakes shores. This voluntary committee of management aims to revegetate the Mt Leura and Mt Sugarloaf Reserve with indigenous flora in a manner reflecting the open woodland vegetation communities existing at the time of European settlement and to provide facilities to enable visitors to more fully experience the unique volcanic environment. They encourage community involvement in the management of the reserve and frequently hold propagation and tree planting days. The Powers Creek Reserve Management Committee manages the Powers Creek Reserve in Timboon. They encourage a high amount of community participation, running tree planting days, walks and recently a family fun run. Wallaby Creek Wildlife Shelter 
Annie at the wildlife creek wildlife shelter near Peterborough cares for a large range of injured wildlife from koalas to wallabies and even penguins. Contact: Annie Fraser (Carer) ph: 5598 5422 SW Bird Observers Club A branch of the Bird Observers Club of Australia (BOCA) this group runs activities and outings to observe birds within south western Victoria. They aim to teach people how to correctly identify bird species, encourage respect for our environment, study the effects of human activity on birds and work towards the protection of birds and their habitats through plantings and fundraising.
