Cobden Lake Project
The Cobden Lake has recently had a bit of Landcare TLC. In June the Bostocks Creek Landcare Group assisted the Cobden Lake committee by organising a native grass planting day and water bug identification activity with Cobden Primary School, resulting in 400 native grasses being planted on the lakes shore.
In late October a group of volunteers put in an additional 500 native grasses and flowering bushes. These plants will create valuable habitat for the birds, fish and frogs currently residing in the lake as well as turning a stretch of weed infested path side in to an aesthetic showcase of some of our local flowering native plants including native geranium, austral indigo, twiggy daisy bush and silver banksias.
If you’d like to help out the Cobden Lake Committee has a working bee at 10am on the last Sunday of every month meeting at the southern carpark and welcome new hands!
